I have two Juwel Rekord 96s, slightly smaller but same thing. They are very good, I have no complaints. I use the juwel filter in one of them and a Fluval 3+ in the other. Both are fine. Some people replace the filters with an external but I havent found that necessary yet. But what I would say to you is that there are lots of these in the second hand market too. Both of mine were free of charge! They are on ebay, too, but sometimes they crop up on Freecycle and Gumtree.

Good luck.

thanks mate what fish have you got in it i have got a bi ube at the mo but its for to small gonna use it for a breeding and hospital tank

I dont know if you meant Nick or me but I will reply anyway cos I like talking about my tanks.

My first 96 litre tank has 6 zebra danio (used 4 to cycle), 3 platys 2 female one male, 5 albino corydoras, 5 albino ancistrus catfish, 6 neon tetra. It is also heavily planted with large amazon sword plants and cryptocorine wendtii. It has 3 pieces of bogwood covered with java moss.

I also have a less mature 96 litre which just has 3 mickey mouse platy, 4 marigold platy (juvenile), 5 male endlers (juvenile). I plan to add to this tank when Ive had it a bit longer.

This tank looks a bit naff with the blue gravel, but I like the contrast between the blue of the gravel and the orange of the fish.
Here it is before fish were added:

nice tanks alysonpeaches. i love the amazon swords in the pics! do you have 2 light tubes in youre tank or just the one? my swords are struggling to grow!

hey no probs peachs all info is much appreciated

gavva, the rekord tanks are strong and reliable. they are a good place to start out but see if you can get a nice one second hand. i paid 50 for my 120 inc stand, light, filter heater and air pump and decor. its always worth a go. i just need to get a small tank for my fry.!

Just the one. Wish I had more, but Im managing! The second tank (blue) gets some daylight but the first one doesnt as its in an alcove.

The amazon swords take a bit of establishing. The first lot I bought I took them out of the pots and planted them in the substrate. They died back then grew very small. The second lot, the large ones you can see in the pic, I left in the pot and just shoved the pot into the gravel (ignoring what the books said). Strangely enough they have grown the best!

What really does well in this light is crypocorine wendtii, the small foreground plants which are reddish/dark green.

i might have to do some research on those! tanks look good tho. i need to get myself a small tank with everything so that i have a hospital or fry tank becuase atm im running a risk!

nick the biube really aint a bad tank only probs its a bit small only 35 liters i had two green sword tailes and they had fry with been a beginner i was intrested in trying to rear them i segregated the female for a bit cos the male kept eating the fry poor buggers but at the end still had fourty plus healthy kids my lfs took of my hands thank god with the tank been so small
