Aquarium Upgrade Plans....lighting Advice Needed!

Hi, over the next few months....like 3/4/5 months I plan to save and get the bits all together to set up a nice aquascaped aquarium based upon zen and iwagumi aquascaping.....not too strictly as I want to keep my bogwood arch as a key feature.

But basically my rekord 60 came with a 15W bulb for lighting.....and this as I understand it is low, I've been struggling to keep all but a few plants healthy in there and this is probably why......anyway I want to set up some T8 or T5 (preferably) lighting, I know I'll probably have to DIY this a bit.....but any ideas on where to look, where I may be able to get units that will fit a 60x30x30cm tank, and the bulbs....etc....would be VERY much apprecited....as I said no rush on this, and if it involves saving, I plan to do so!


On another note I have recently bought a tiny 12x8x8 inch clearseal tank currently as a QT tank, what mini lighting is possible for this size of tank, probably medium on this one!

i will be subscribing here as i am also looking for a new light to fit my diy tank in the wall, there are some threads of little help so have a search for them. but im guessing like you for me they are not much help one idea i havd had given to me was to use a normal light fitting with daylight bulbs. http/www.fishforums.net/content/Hardware.../Diy-Lighting-/

I need to replace the juwel reflector as it's rubbish, that's a cert!
Will any wattage of bulb work off my current bulb setup??
