Hi all,
I keep reading on this forum about putting aquarium salt in your betta's tank. Is this something I should be doing for my betta in the bachelor pad (because I know salt in the community tank would hurt all my cats)? If yes, how much should I add and how often? It's a 2 gal. tank with heater, 1x weekly 90% water changes... Thanks!

Hi Apache:

I started a similar thread a while ago when I was confused about the salt issue. There are lots of different opinions out there so you just have to do as much information gathering as possible. Here is a link to my thread asking about salt. It will give you some opinions as well as point you in other directions to continue your research.

I've found that putting in about 1/5 of a teaspoon of aquarium salt per 1 gallon has kept my bettas very healthy so far. They seem very happy and bubblenest all the time, even the female! :)
Not sure if this helps but just sharing my own experiences.
