I bought some plumbing pipe connectors to put in my new 29gln for a cave-type thing. Tonight I bought some of that silicone at Petco and some rocks. I used the better part of the whole tube making this thing.........is it still going to be safe??

It says to let sit for 24 hours to 48 hours. If I let it sit for 36 hours do you think it would be okay to put it in and see how it goes??

Thanks

the longer you let it dry the better, and most poeple dont know that water draws out the moisture in the silicone, so if there is a dish of water in the tank, it will dry faster. still, better to let it sit for a while

Thanks!!

Hey FishyJ., what do you mean by "if there is a dish of water in the tank",......it's FULL of water!! -_- :/ :D

the thicker it is the longer you should wait , the silicon will take longer to cure .
To bad they didn't make pvc pipe in colors to match tank decor .[ browm , green ] Hey , JAYJT , WE'LL SEND YOU MORE PICS SOON .

when useing silicon, if u drop a bit of wate ron it it dries quick.. well seals quicker... i found this out when i made a mistake an wanted to remover the sealent off... heh yeh well lets just say its still there now :/

I am sooooo happy with this cave thing that I made. I didn't know how it would turn out at first but it looks REALLY cool!!
