Rather than spend £30 on a new filter outlet kit I've spent £2 on a series of white plastic L bends that should do an equally good job. I'd quite like to paint them black though to hide them (back of tank is painted black.)

There seems to be a fair bit of conflicting advice, so I thought I'd ask here - what can I get (preferably from B&Q or Homebase) that will be non toxic and be fine to paint a filter outlet?

I've currently got some Polyvine acrylic enamel paint in front of me, and it states it's 'non hazardous' though whether that's the same thing as non toxic I'm not sure - I'm going to ring them to find out, but if anyone has any advice I'd welcome it.

Hammerite is safe for inside tanks.

Edit; I don't know if it'll melt your plastic or not though!

I did some more digging and the only thing that people were consistently saying was fine was Krylon Fusion spray paint. It's not common and I had to do a bit of digging to find it but have some on order now.
