Well having bought a fair few plants for my aquarium, they have started to go yellow. From reading around I think it is because they arent getting enough light. The tank is a Jewel Rekord 96 and i have been told the lighting system is rubbish so if i want to have beautiful healthy plants ill need to change it. What i want to know is can i just unscrew the current bulb and add a more powerful one or do i have to go through a complicated process of adding a whole new bulb to the lid to work along side? If i can just change them what is the best online supplier as internet shopping is the best i can do.

Hi Fee have a read through this guide on lighting for planted tanks, if your still unsure about anything just ask..........k

Lighting

i recently changed my bulb in my rekord 96 for a brighter one (make sure its same wattage)

i also did BIGC lighting upgrade..... well worth doing both makes such a difference! good luck with it

How about just stripping the whole lot out & fitting a twin T5 set in thier?? T5 lamps are so much brighter than T8's
