ye i think that would work fine, although your guna have to mod it abit 
but...seems as you dont have a warrenty why not pull the lid apart and start from there?? or why not try and make your own lid? its not that hard and it looks alot better IMO, also means you can have whatever type of system you want 
also....dont knwo if you noticed but the elite lid is just a noisey piece of work anyway lol
