hi guys, i've just bougth a 25 gallon aquarium 2-3 days ago, and yesterday, there was leaking water on my floor.
i rushed and emptied all the water, took out my fishes, put them in another 5 gallon aquarium temporarily.
here's a picture of the bottom of the aquarium (handmade via paint) just to show u what seems to be the issue.
on a side, there is a little chip of glass taken off, but didn't seem it has affected the area....
on the middle and one angle of the aquarium, there is a heavy crack lines, that's where it was leaking from !
i dont have a car actually, and some guys came delivering it for me, the main problem was the table it was on, it wasn't the right size, like the aquarium was outside the table area from both sides, wish i didn't think it would cause such thing... (first tank i got)..
what would be the cheapest and safest way i could repair it? thanks

I'm not seeing any photo, but if it's seriously cracked you may be better off just getting a new one than trying to repair it.

Also for future reference, always make sure the tank is fully supported on a flat surface! I suspect that the overhang you had will be what caused the cracking.

sorry, here's the picture !

If it was mine, I'd replace that pane with a new one :-(

a friend of mine have some pieces of glass, mine are 5 mm, but he must have like 6 or 7 mm, but he told me that it might be slightly bigger..

my buttom piece is 80cm by 23.5 cm....can i put like 90 by 25 ?

if its the bottom then seal it and put another peice of glass inside on top of the repaired glass and seal all edges effectively giving two bits of glass as the base thats what i did, you cant see the repair with the substrate in

ok, today i went out and bought a glass replacement panel, and silicone...
i also got myself a thick piece of wood 1cm exceeding the aquarium size from both sides....i've put it upside down, so i can cut the silicone with a razor blade, now my question is, when im done, (cleaning etc...) can i put silicone on the new panel, and simply put it back the same way (aquarium up side down) and put a tiny little weight on it, so it can fix...what im afraid of, is once that i get the old panel, if i try to move the aquarium, i dont want it to move from the sides, and taking the risk of breaking it, or tearing apart the silicone on the other panels....what do u guys suggest ?
