aquarium and stand size

Hello!
I recently moved house and bought a lovely new stand, however, it doesn not appear to be wide enough by 1 cm each side. Pic:

Should I be worried about this? I read most places that it is the corners that need to be supported......

IMO thats nothing to worry about. Just because of the fact it doesn't really overhang the thickness of the glass.

How big is the tank tho?

IME you should be OK. I had a 30gal with that same situation once, and did not have any trouble.

Cheers guys. Yes, I have a 31 Gallon tank.

The only problem is, that I also have an issue with my soft floorboards - even when you walk softly past the tank, the water ripples. So I think I better move it to another part of the room........

You may want to confirm your which direction your floor joist go ie

you might find placing the tank along the joist going across your room ie
----|++++++++| ---------
| tank |
----|++++++++|-------

check your loft and your floor joist will be at 90o to them.
