anyone use polyester on top of the sponges?.......if u do, how do u use it?

Just recently added floss to my 200. Just set it on top...ok, i shape it into a nice rectangle.

I use it, but I sandwich it in between two sponges. I've got thin batting, and I cut and folded it to be about 3/4" inch thick (dry). Makes the top sponge sort of redundant, I know, but if I put two sponges and floss in, whatever's on top is slightly above the water surface, and I'd rather that be the sponge.

I put floss under a sponge.
If the floss is on the top it starts to droop into the tank as it gets bigger when full of water.
The sponge on top keeps it nice and neat.
