I have an AC 300 and an Emperor 400 on my 55 Gallon Tank. I like the idea of the bio-wheel and the huge media area of the AC filters, so i figured i would combine the two ideas. I went to my LFS and bought a replacement biowheel for a Bio-Wheel 330. I then mounted it inside of my AC 300 and it works great. When i first got the tank i only had the AC 300 and it didnt keep the water clear so i added the Emperor 400. I figured i would try the ac 300 by itself now that it has an already colonized bio-wheel to see if it makes a difference. Well the AC 300 w/BW has been by itself now for a few days and the water is still crystal clear. I dont know if anyone has done this before or if anyone will want to do it again but i just though i would let you guys know that an AC with BW works GREAT!!! Pics up soon..

Hi,

Wondering if you can post some pics of it. I have AQ 200 and am thinking about doing what you did if the results were good.

I'm curious, too, OC. Did you mount the BioWheel somewhat to allow it to spin, or is it just sitting in there?

I thought he was here a couple of minutes ago...oh well :p

I want to know that too, wonder what kind of wheel would fit for my AQ 200

I do not have a camersa so i cant post pics but i looked at those instructions and i did it a little differend. I bought a biowheel assembly from a Biowheel 170. I took the wheel and the bearings and threw the rest away. Then i bought two thick washers and some aquarium sealant. Next i attached the bearings to the inside of the washers with the sealant. When that dreid i put the biowheel inside the bearings and attached the washers to my AC 300 with the sealant. It spins fine and is now fully cultured. It works great!!! I will try to find someone that is willing to let me use there camera so that i could post pics.... Sorry for being away for so long but my computer broke and i just got it up and running a few days ago..

BTW: I have a Biowheel 330 and i hate it the AC 300 with the bio wheel is MUCH better!!

thanks OscarCichlid, try finding a camera to post some pics.

do you know what kind or size of biowheel would fit on AQ 200??

Im not sure but maybe one from a Bio-wheel 125. I have both filters but at two different houses. ill check to see if it fits tommorow.

i have seen the replacement wheel cost somewhere between $6 - $13
