hi i go to one on paisley road west called the coral reef. but i bought the plants in a shop called aquarium design on the same street. i live about 30 mins from the city centre

hi allan your tank looks a lot better with the new graval by the way, but i'm adding my 2penth worth just to tell you what i did with my 850 ( which is in the garage empty ) i found that the lid made to much noise with the vibration coming from the pump and yes i took of the extention from the overflow and that did help the water noise but what i did was get rid of the internal pump that's attached to lid and i bought a eheim 2224 external and i ran the flow back into the tank through the lid over all the media and charcol then back into tank. so the water went from the eheim intake though all the media in the eheim out the out flow into the lid through all the media that came with tank then back into tank, as a bonus all that extra filtration and no vibrating noise in lid as the eheim is so quiet you have to touch it to make sure it's still running.
i have just bought a rena 120x50x70 with the xp3 external WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN SIZE it seems huge compared to the 850 and i'm going to add the eheim external to it aswell, i tiked the 850 but found i wished it was just that wee bit longer, so the 850 is all alone in the garage :+( i feel sorry for it LOL

i think i have a problem with the filter. The two filter "baskets" are filling up with water i think its to do with the small particle membrane @ the bottom or the basket being clogged up. but this happens less than 2 days after cleaning the filter out

hi m8 i had the same problem with it all i did was put some floss under the black sponge that trapped the dirt and i just cleaned that every time i did a water change ( cleaned it in the water change water ) that helped a bit . but i hope all is going well i still think there is not enough filtration with that set up that is how i did the external too, anyway hope your tanks looking ok TA RA
PS YOU CAN TAKE OUT THE BOTTOM MEMBRANE if you do what i did with the floss on top give it a go anyway byeeeee

I have the 980 and have replaced the white filter padds with just the usual filter wool. It takes a lot longer to clog, so cleaning isn't needed as often.

I am also running and internal Fluval 4+ in my tank as well as I didn't think the overhead filter was enough.

I have the 120 tank. No probs with overflowing. I have had it set up for a couple months now. I have been (and will continue to) clean the filter wool once a month in used tank water.
