Anybody have an aqua one tank? I have the 620t tall tank and its awesome any views or problems would be appreciated.

I have the 980, it looks very good but is IMO not well designed, the light section is very heavy and you have to turn it on its back to get at the back section of the tank.
Also i find that if the water is up to the silver trim and you put your arm in to do any maintenance ,it can start leaking over the back, possibly because it is not Siliconed properly.
If i had to replace it i would have another Hagen .

i have a windsor 180l and a ar380 34l tank and had not problems however, i haven't had any other models to compare all my lfs all stock aqua ones

My larger tank is an Aqua One Regal 120 (300 ltr) aquarium. I must say it seems very well constructed and I haven't ran into any problems, other than the delivery guys situating it back to front :) The cannister filter is a little tricky to prime, but once it's all up and running the thing is pretty much silent. The lights are decent (and could be easily changed if needed) and more than enough to keep my setup lit and my plants growing.

The whole thing came as a kit with external filter, lights, hood, stand etc and looks very nice in my hall. I'm still in the process of stocking it and enjoying every minute :) The hood is solid wood and everything is very nicely finished.

Compared the the little Fluval tank I have upstairs it's like night and day. The fluval is plasticky and feelks kinda cheap. I like my Aqua One, tho I admit I would hold some reservations for some of their more "modern" plastic tanks... hehe.

The instructions were awful with the 620T. There was no explanation how to prime the pump or set or the filters. I had to find out from the net how to install the filters-apart form that i was well impressed

I have the 620T also and I love it. I haven't encountered any problems with it aside from what what you said about the lack of installation instructions. I too had to go online and look around for them. I don't think there are any negatives to report about the tank aside from my desire for longer arms when it comes to moving my plants! My mum has the 620 standard tank and though it's nice I don't think it has the wow effect that mine has.

I also have a 320 tank that I bought as a nursery for my fry. I had to take it to the LFS last weekend because I kept noticing a pool of water sat round the outside of it every day and assumed it was leaking. My LFS filled it and held onto it for 4 days and said they hadn't detected any leaks and that Aqua One had reported a general problem with people overfilling these tanks and condensation escaping through the gaps in the back and running down. I don't quite understand this because I had left a good inch of glass visible at the top. Anyway, it's not currently in use so I'll have to see what happens when I next need to fill it.

I know what you mean about having long arms to reach the bottom-maybe i'm an orang-utang! :hey:

sorry i havent a digital camera at the moment-i have mainly long plants all up the back-a sunken wreck and bog wood near the front and submerged stones on the right in a sharp gravel. I am getting a camera soon -i'll send you a piccy once i get one

had thought about getting bogwood in mine. I bought some mountainous looking ornaments (can't think of any other way to describe them!) when I set up the tank but they're looking a bit tired and old now and I'd like a more natural looking aquarium. I'm slowly phasing out fake plants and planting more and more real ones.

I have the Aqua One Regency 120 300 litre. I love the tank and it looks really smart in my lounge. I swapped the external filter that it came with after a couple of weeks as I found it a bit noisy and changed it for an Eheim Thermofilter so also made the heater redundant.

Originally I was going to have a community tank and for that reason the depth of the tank was ideal however I went for Malawi's and now find the tank too deep. I'm looking atm to change it for a 6' long tank and one not so deep. Other than that no complaints.

Have you a piccy of your shrimps?

not yet. I'll try taking one later today and posting it but for now all they're doing is hanging out together ontop of the little filter that goes inside my Aqua One 320 when that's up and running. I'm keeping it ticking over in my 620T until I need it again. I'll post if I get a successful picture.

i have a 620 and imagine how gutted i was when the next month they brought out the tall one :(
i still love it though - although i'd agree that the setup instructions left quite a lot to be desired!

no problems - other than occasionally the power head vibrates a lot producing an annoying sound but after a quick fiddle it settles down to its normal virtual silence
