Anyone have or had an Aqua One AR980 (or any other in the AR range), Im after opinions on the range, the filter (trickle filter), cabinet structure/strength etc??

Answers gratefully received :)

I have an AR126 which did have a betta in it until he died. Seems sturdy enough, however I did not receive any bits for the filter with it, so haven't used the trickle filter bit. I also think the front lifty up panel is not big enough - but that may be improved with bigger tanks.

Sorry I can't be more help...in terms of build they seem like good tanks, just no idea about the rest lol! :)

Thanks :) Anyone else?

I've got mixed views about Aqua One tbh Minx. With regard to the AR range, IMO The trickle filters are poorly designed and are no way sufficient enough for any fish that are remotely messy, The lighting is poor and the bulbs that come with the unit are rubbish and soon fail IME, Also the smaller tanks are very prone to being poorly sealed. Oh and the powerheads are naff too,

bottom line is; I wouldn't touch one

In that case, I shall leave it then, thanks for the advice Davo :)

Hey hey heeeeeeey!

Don't be swayed by just one opinion.

The cabinets are one of the best on the market both in style and quality of construction.

The larger tanks are extremely handsome and look great in any front room.

Now then, quality of the tanks are pretty good.......for the money.

The filter system is extremely easy to maintain and contain an enormous amount of media which EASILY processes the waste from the tanks' maximum allowance of stock. It also aerates the return water wonderfully.

Downside is the power head maintenance. The power head is as reliable as any other but it can be a little tricky to demount from the housing for major cleaning. Also the spray bar requires careful positioning to prevent vibration which can become annoying.

All in all, if you are on a budget and want a set up that looks much more than it costs then this is a serious contender

Of course these are only my opinions from research and from owning in the past a 380 and 850 for a couple of years.

I had the ar620 for a while and have thoroughly regretted selling it every day since.

Nuff said :good:
