hi
ive now got 8 ranging ( from diffrent breeders) from about 2 cm`s to an inch in size, at the moment they are in my commnuity tank, just till i get my oscar tank out of the way, then i can worry about setting a tank for them exclusivley..
at the moment they are fed on plec wafers and veg.a dn of course whatever they find on the tank floor forom the other fish ( ive stopped feeding blood worm for hile they are in there)

at what sort of rate will they grow and when will they be perfect for breeding
what would the perfect tank size, substrate, decor be?

are they prone to anything.. i have both albino and browns

and basically anything else you can tell me :)

many thanks

They'll grow slower if they are together in one tank. The more food and the bigger the tank, along with the better the water quality - the faster.

ah right i thought someone may say that, ok no problem massive tank coming up then :) it will be 2-3 wks like this tops, thanks for that

To be honest, you may have to rehome some in the future anyways, you have 8 half or maybe more may turn out male. Unless you have somethink like a 5/6 foot tank then a possible 6 males together isnt going to work and even with a 6 foot tank i would expect a certain amount of fighting.

They should be actively mature at around 18-24 mnths.

Bristlenose reach full size (which can be up to 8") in about 3 years but will hit 4-5"in about 18 months.
hope this helps

8 inches is a bit of an exaggeration but the time scale to full grown isnt to far off for 4-5 inch lol. maximum common BN's should get is 6 inches....occasionally bigger but not very often :p
