whenever i read information about apple snails, they advertise them as growing up to be the size of baseballs!! is it true? has anyone ever had a really huge snail before?
On average, I think they only get to 2.5-3" but there are some that grow up 4" which would be about baseball size. There are several species and the more common ones aren't that large AFAIK.
This lady brought a huge gold mystery snail into work. I had never seen one so big. It was baseball...maybe softball size! And she wanted to get rid of it!!!
I'd take it. I'm going to be buying some more snails soon, blue, albino and perhaps black and ivories but large goldens are great too. Mine's about 3" or so in diameter and still growing.
