I just hatched a clutch of my own! They laid two egg sacs above the water line. I did some research and after 4 weeks the clutch started to turn a bluish color and look like it was rotting or fungusing almost, so I figured they were ready and I removed the egg sac and broke it open. There were lots of tiny babies. I put them in a separate tank to keep them from being eaten.

The other egg sac was infertile. It was 4-5 weeks old. When I broke it open it was full of nothing but clear smelly goo. No baby snails. I have read elsewhere that this is what happens when they are infertile. I am not sure that you can tell if the clutch is fertile or not just by looking at the outside. Mine looked identical. I did not know until I opened them. Both were a peachy pink. I will say that the infertile one never got the bluish fungus/rot look but that is probably just a coincidence. I still have about 30-40 baby snails!
