Somewhere else, as I am banned...
It seems that the porcupinefish has recovered from his recent sulk and decided he likes mussels, to the point of not letting anyone else in the tank get any. Considering the last time I fed I had to have my hand in so long holding a piece of muscle for the porky that my finger was bit by either an eel or the trigger, I am most pleased.

The result of the feeding was:

The trigger was hanging around

And appears less than impressed that most food the trigger is going to get will have been "sampled"...

Looking good!

On the plus side of the recent nuking, I have now put the preds in a nice large tank. Now to decide on what to complete the tank with... :D

And yes, I know that a mussel ... crustacean...

Woah, that's one big tummy!
Last pic is very cute!

I'm confuddled, you mean you know they are molluscs :S .
Or am I missing something... .

Indeed, I know that they are molluscs, but the above poetic licence became a tool for the pun on the Guns n Roses album.

Well, the whole tank ate well tonight, and everyone came out to say hi.

The tang seems to like the extra room of the tank as it is set up now (the Tunze wavebox has gone and the rock is all pushed back into the corners and back edge)

The tang does like to follow the trigger around a lot. There doesn't seem to be any aggression, though I am unsure how much the trigger appreciates the attention.

At one point the porky appeared quite shocked at something:

And when one pans out the only noticeable thing is that the trigger is eating food and the porky is not.

And we know that the porky was eating, because that's his favourite past time:

However, it would seem the white ribbon eel was sampling anything in case it was food:

And he is getting a nice size now. I'm not sure how much longer will be attained, but in theory something like another foot is possible:

Finally, the snowflake eel has shown some real growth, consider his first pictures:

To him now:

More feeding means more pics.

First up, let's get an idea of how big the white ribbon eel is. I couldn't get him all in one, so the best I have is his front half followed by his tail half (but I think I missed some middle):

The snowflake was making an appearance and really seems to have got more gold on it in the last month or so.

The porky and trigger were hungry and feeding as one would expect:

And now for a guest appearance of my Lophiocharon sp frogfish. She was right at the front so I thought I would have a go at a couple of pictures. Her tank is a bit covered with algae these days (an achievement as the lights are seldom on). First up is the lure. It was broken and still hasn't fully mended (hence the kink in it).

Some detail of her back and the white patches that break up the black

And I always love how she places a hand-like fin up against the glass

And here she is in all her glory

And so we go back to the eel, who thought that the porky was dinner

And then looked mean while informing me that it might be a little hungry

The porky was not overly worried and happily posed for some close ups later on

Wow. all of your fish are amazing!! What size tanks are they in? I can't believe porkies tummy could expand that much!! Your picasso trigger is a beaut as well. I love the eels! I could go on and on...

Just looked in your profile, but you don't have any tank stats! But you're 1 year older than I.

The frogfish is in a 24x15x15 while all the rest are in the main SW tank, a 60x24wx18h tank connected to a sump, a separate fuge and with a couple of tanks adjoined on the side.

oooo cool. I'm considering doing a predator tank for my 125(60" x 18" x 26"), but I have reservations about it. Now if I get another tank say 40-50 gallons then I could have my reef tank in there.....hmmmm. However, I think a giant reef tank would totally rock. Especially if I bought lots of colorful corals and fish. I'll figure it out someday. (if/when I ever make up my mind)...although I've always wanted an eel and I like lionfish....
