Hi,I have for sale some F1 pairs of Apistogramma sp.Kelleri these are one of the 2 only known mouthbrooding Apistogramma the other being Apistogramma Barlowi. These are really rare in the hobby so dont miss out on the chance to own/breed something different. They are excellent fish and will suit a breeding project or community tank. These are selling fast so dont miss out. The males are roughly 2"+ and the females are roughly 1-1.5". First 2 pics are of the parents to show what they will look like. The other 2 pics are of actual fish for sale although they are a bit bigger now as it a photo from a couple of months ago,the males are now looking like the adult male with the red speckles on the cheeks.

Thanks for looking
regards
Ian

Do you have any collection data on the parents? What size are the babies?

Hi,if i remember rightly the parents were from the collection locality of Rio Jutai Brazil. They were imported about 18 months ago by Rare Aquatics which i believe was the last known import of this species. I know of few breeders who were only getting males from there broods but i was lucky enough to produce an even sex ratio of males and females. The juvenile males are roughly around 2 inch and the females probably just over an inch. These are raised in local tap water so are not as fussy as the wild caught parents when it comes to water parameters and from the feedback ive been getting from a few breeders i have sold them to spawned within a couple of weeks. These are probably my favorite Apisto with regards to breeding behavior and character. You can see a video of my male mouthbrooding here Male Mouthbrooding

Hope this helps.

Ian

they look like rams. nice fish are they peaceful fish

Hi,yes they are peaceful, but as with most fish can become defensive when they have spawned if in a community tank. I have a pair in my community tank with no problems. Id like to know what Rams you have.. ;) lol

Hope this helps.
I'm interested in 2-3 pairs, could you do me a deal on 3 pairs? (Do you consider them to be a pair or a harem species?)

What conditions did you breed them in, or do you have a record of the spawn somewhere?

i have some blue ramms 4 of them. im in stockport

im intersted in a pair to breed.

Hi,i would say they will do better in pairs as ive tried them as a harem but wasn't interested but that could be because i added a female to an already established pair never tried them as 3 single fish. I have posted numerous posts regarding this species and my achievements here Kelleri Post Just search my profile for my other posts on this species should give you info on them. My pH was around 6.5 on my last spawn but ive breed them in as low as 5,temperature is usaully around 76-78,TDS around 80-100ppm. Yeah im sure we could come to a deal on 3 pairs would you require postage?

Postage is a must, unless you come down towards Norwich/King's Lynn/Oxford areas occasionally?

Yes i agree does make a change finding somebody who lives in the same area, not that there anything wrong with people from any other area..haha They would probably breed in your aquarium if any of the fry survive is another matter. But saying that with them being mouthbrooders the female(and sometimes the male) will take the fry in her mouth at the sign of any danger and your tank looks heavily planted so will provide lots of safe places. I have a breeding pair of Pelvicachromis Sacrimontis in my main tank and im always finding there young dotting about the place.
