Should work fine. It's usually hardness test kits and to some extent pH test kits that aren't useful in brackish and especially marine fishkeeping. Not because of any fundamental flaw to the chemicals, but because the measuring scales cover different ranges of numbers (saltwater being much harder and more basic than most freshwater samples are likely to be).
