Waste of money - just use a good dechlorinator.

just looks like a britta filter, with deionising properties and pH adjustment to me.

I would say its not really worth it.

Always wondered can you get a bad dechlorinator?

Not really, all of them are composed of the a similar salt, an ionic thiosulphate salt.
