Hopefully at my next fish auction someone will be selling C. Sterbai again, and they go really cheap at the auction. 5 of them for $18. So I will probably be getting them, then breeding them. Is there anything I need to know about them? I know they like a bit higher temperatures. I already keep C. Trilineatus but are C. Sterbai any different?(more sensitive maybe???)

Thanks!

i have a breeding trio who i find are as happy kept the same as peppers and bronzes. they are more than happy and spawn very regular :)

Sterbai get to be about 2.5 inches long. They tolerate a pretty big range for pH... 6.0 through 7.6 is fine. They don't mind higher temperates and like it to be between 75 and 82 degrees (F). They are listed as beginner fish, so they are probably hardy.

I got this info from PlanetCatfish. I've never owned a Sterbai. >_<

I can't wait to get them! I will have a nice 10 gallon dedicated to only them...(I still need to get the filter and heater though...)

My pH is 7.6

I still can't believe how much they cost! $10 each!!!! I really hope the person at the auction has them again! It's less than $4 for each Sterbai at the auction usually! They are really small though, about .75 inches!

Hey, CR, one question, who's taking you? Cause I'd wanna come with to get some cories also.

Hi Captain Retardo :)

C. sterbai are not particularly difficult fish to raise and keep. The only thing different is that they thrive at somewhat warmer temperatures than many of the other corys prefer.

Good luck with the auction! :D
