I switched to amquel from my regular decholrinator a few weeks ago and now when I change my betta tanks, they have this clear to milky slime all over the sides and bottom. It's pretty thick, I'm doing 100% w/c every other day since I switched and I seriously have to scrape it off and rinse a few times before I can refill. It starts showing up about 12 hours after a water change.

Anyone else have this? Is it the amquel or something else? :dunno:

i just started using it as my tap water has ammonia already in it. i just changed my bowls today and thought the slime was just because i was a little lazy and slacked on my changes this week. but there was a slight film on the river rocks at the bottom...hmmm...

I only see it in my unfiltered, betta tanks if that makes any difference -_-
I don't happen to have a bottle atm..but check the directions..some things like algae remover, melafix etc can't be used unless a tank has filtration...maybe this is the same way?

theres nothing on the bottle that says anything like that.

i have used amquel forever and have never had any problems.

I used to use Amquel and never had this problem. My guess is it's not the conditioner but something else causing it. Sheesh Sorrell, you sure have had some mind boggling problems lately :(

Trust me I've noticed :/ This doesn't seem to bother them though, seems to just bother me. I'm wondering if maybe my bartender wrist is over-pouring the amquel, maybe I'll have to pull out the measuring spoons and see if that's the deal
