Anyone play airsoft here?

I'm about to cancel my order from Airsoft GI. I placed my order on Sunday. Everything was listed as in stock and ships within 24-48 hours. I understand an extra day or so due to the holidays to process. It's now Friday and it hasn't shipped. I emailed them about it and their response is not sitting well with me. They are waiting for my items to arrive at their facility from their distributors. Once it arrives (whenever that is), then they will package and ship my order. This doesn't exactly fit my description of "In Stock" if they have to order from a 3rd party first. I'm also not the only one who is having these issues. It seems many folks have been waiting for weeks for their items to ship but are stuck in order processing limbo with no idea when they'll actually receive their orders.

If it doesn't ship today, I'm just going to cancel my order and go through Evike or Airsoft Megastore. Would you agree?

I would cancel it as well. Evike and FoxAirsoft are both great sites. Airsoft Megastore is not known for quality guns, that’s why I wouldn’t go with them.

Airsoft Megastore has the same Lancer Tacticals. I'm calling Airsoft GI once they open.

Never tried airsoft. It was a huge craze around here for a while, and I got annoyed with all the pellets littering the local wild park. Other than that, the idea seems fun. We used to "play guns," running around shooting cap guns at each other. When you got "hit," you had were dead for 30 seconds before you could get back in the game. Great fun. Things were different back then. We all hunted, knew what real firearms were and what they could do, and none of us would have dreamed of pointing a real gun at someone.

I took the Badgerling out the other day and taught her to shoot the old .22. It's a single shot with open sights, perfect for learning on. She's the third generation to learn to shoot on that rifle, and it's as accurate today as it was when my dad learned to shoot on it 60 years ago. After two shots she was picking twigs off sagebrush at 20 yards. Made me proud. :) Now we just need to find her a rabbit.

That's exactly why I spent the extra for biodegradable BBs. Every outdoor airsoft field that I know of requires them now.

Sorry, I was thinking of the wrong website. Both would be OK.

Thats good that they require it now, I know they didn't use to. I also use biodegradable .

I and a few friends used to run around Crawley late at night with fully hopped up MP5s, urban CQBs always better than running around the woods. We used to wait until we were sure all the drinkers had got home before starting. Couldn't do it today......likely to get shot for real........

What put's me off airsoft nowdays is that most on the field would never get into the forces.............it's more akin to CoD/Battlefield than real warfare.

Excersise with the dfwes tes sytems were always fun and felt more real than the BBs.

I got hit in the adams apple playing paintball and it hurt soooooooo bad. Found out later if you get hit there hard enough you can die. Not a big fan of shooting games since.
I seen a guy get shot up under his mask, paint up his nose type of shot, once he stopped twitching and was gotten up onto his feet he seemed OK.

PJ, from PJ and Duncan ended up blind from paintballing, not getting ready to rumble anymore...........

That’s why I don’t really like paintball. Also, a lot of mean players freeze their paintballs to make them more accurate.

Airsoft players are usually honest with their hits. (When they don’t you shoot them in the head. :hey:)

What is this?

I made the mistake of playing paintball once in Alaska during the winter. ONCE! Frozen paintballs are no fun unless you're a sadist or masochist.

I tried calling customer support today. No answer, but I woke up to an email saying they packed it and created a UPS label, so per TOS, I cannot cancel now anyways since it "shipped".

airsoft battles on youtube...dont watch if you dont like violence

how many bullets do airsoft assault weapons hold? how long does it take to reload? do they use co2 cartridges?

It depends. Lol.

Your main types are:

Spring powered. These require manual cocking for each shot. These are usually cheap Walmart specials or sniper rifles.
AEG (automatic/airsoft electric gun). These run on a battery.
HPA. These run on compressed gasses such as CO2 or green gas (propane).

Magazine capacity can range from just a few to thousands. Most common pistols and sniper rifles usually have less 30 or less. Most "assault rifle" styles will hold between 300-500 round mags. Reloading times depends on your equipment, but most players use a tool called a speed loader.

BBs are made of plastic and generally range in weight from .12g to .46 with .2-.3g being used by most players.

As far as power, they can range from less than 100fps for the cheapo you bought on Wish to in excess of 500fps in some high quality sniper rifles. Most pistols are under 300fps and most rifles will be between 300-400fps. As a general rule of thumb in most games, each class will have minimum engagement distances depending on their power to protect players from injury. A low powered pistol might have a MED of 10ft, whereas a sniper rifle shooting heavier BBs at 400+fps might have a MED of 100ft. Game styles vary greatly as well. From indoor CQB (close quarters) to full on, no limits Milsim played outside. And everything in between.
