I found a pic of a fire eel and just automatically became attached to them but first before i get one i need to know a couple of things.

Would they grow too big for a 450 litre tank 151L x 61W x 64H cm

would they be suited to bgks & cats for tank mates

can you give a bit of general info plz on them

:good:

IMO i would say that it would be just about ok, provided there weren't many more other bottom dwellers in the tank, Fire Eels are easily able to reach sizes of 20inches or more.
I would also avoid boistrous or quick moving fish as it may be hard for the Eel to get his share of the food going into the tank.

Juvi Eels require sand, and tend to be slightly harder to keep than larger mature individuals.

what type of cats did you have in mind?

i was thinkin id sharks and other scavenger cats.

this is the full list of fish i would like gettin in the juwel aquarium

X1 BGK
X3 Hujeta Gars
X1 Clown Knife (might sell it if it grows too big in my aquarium)
X4Pangasius (ID Shark)
X10-50 feeder fish (Neons & Guppys) for the Hujetas,BGK Clown Knife ECT...
what other fish do you suggest that i should get that wouldnt have a death match with any other fish & is amazing to watch (also in the oddball group!)

Why would you purchase Pangasius hypophthalmus. That's clearly a lose-lose situation. Personally, I'd skip over Notopterus Chilata as well.

Sorry but you are way overestimating the tank size and stocking i'm afriad

Pangasius should not be sold in the trade as they get way too big (2feet easy)
As do clown knifes, (30-40inches easy) they will also not get on with a BGK and will most likely attack the Eel.

I'd be looking at the BGK, the hujeta, Fire Eel, and then something like Bichirs, Reed fish, and possibly a Dat of some sort

oh yeah i remember dats they look so sweet  on aqualand pets plus website it says that these fish need salt and the ph should be high that dosen't suit the bgk, so could the datnoids live without salt?
