Anyone Keep Golden Tetras?

I was just wondering if anyone keeps Golden tetras and how they found them in the ease of keeping stakes. I got money for Christmas so I could get some more fish and I fell in love with the golden tetras (of course being in Australia and the tetras being captive bred they are all silver with no gold but still stunning), but the information I have found so far on these guys is totally conflicting. Some places say they are hardy and a person had even used them to help cycle a tank (like most people use danios for), while other referances I have read have said they can be tricky to keep . They are going in a 4ft long time established tank with 10 Black Neon Tetras. strebia cory's, shrimp and 1 female fighter, moss and some other weed that is going crazy and a pr of Bristle noses.
So any other info others can add about these guys would be apprecaited.

I don't have any golden Tetras, but I recently bought a school(15) Silver Tip Tetras, and they are a really bright gold, and stunning little fish. I can recommend them as great fish. They do dash around the tank a lot!

Also greedy little guys.
