need to ask a question, in the juwel lido tanks (its probably the same for all juwel tanks i guess) is there any way of controlling the power of the out flow, wasnt sure so thought id ask being as i think its a bit stronger than i (and my fish for that matter!) would have liked it

thanks :)

Yes, Juwel impellers are interchangeable to a greater extent, so you could take the impellor from a 280 pump and put it in a 1000 pump if you really wanted.

However, like my Aqua One 620T, the Juwel Lido is a relatively high volume tank for the size of its base. Not only does this reduce the surface area for gaseous exchange, but getting proper water circulation to keep the water good is not easy, recently I had to pull my 9 Ilyodon xantusi youngsters out of that 620T after finding the upper water fine but 0.25mg/l ammonia on the tank floor and put them in my 48"x17"x22" community.

oh thats good then :) ah yes you are right they are relatively tall compared to the size of the footprint of the tank, perhaps its a good thing that the tank has a good strong circulation then, if i ended up changing stuff around so that it had a less powerful flow then i could end up in a situation like the one you had! i think i'll leave it for now being as my tanks just came out of a mini cycle after taking down my old tank and setting up my current one, dont want to cause any more problems :D haha

I don't currently have a Juwel Lido, but I've just ordered one for my study :D let me know how you get on with yours!

i think they are a great looking tank :) i got one as i wanted a tank with a bigger volume than my previous one, and i was looking for something kind of cube shaped as i had scape plan in mind that i thought would suit it! im gonna post a pic in the photo's section soon so you can have a look there if you want :)
