I live in Suffolk and the city is just a bit too far for me to go shopping for fish. I can, however, tell you how to get in touch with folks who know about all the lfs in there. Here's a link to the Greater City Aquarium Society which meets monthly at the Queens Botanical Garden. In fact, they have a meeting coming up next Wednesday.

There are other aquarium societies you might be interested in checking out too. If you scroll down to the New York section you will find links to their websites. Even if you choose not to join one, keep an eye out for their shows and auctions which take place regularly. You won't be sorry you did.

Check out this site- he is on the Island Frank's Aquarium he allows pickups. he is not a complete "fish store" but he has a lot of neat stuff, especially if smaller fish are your passion.

actually its funny you mention this as i got a letter in the mail giving me information about this very cool might just check it out
