Any use for UGF and HOB Filter?

I'm getting a 20 gal low/long tank from a friend that already has an UGF but I don't really think UGF provide sufficient filtration so I'm gonna be purchasing an Aqua Clear I think. Am I wrong about the UGF? Also would it be of any benfit to have the UGF plus the Aqua Clear?

Yes, an AC 200 and a ug will be perfect for that tank. The UGF provides a bigger area for beneficial bacteria to colonize. It is very helpful addition to an AC.

Thanks for the advice I just can't wait to actually "see" this tank. She said it had gravel, ugf, and heater it just needs a hood. I'm scared to see what color gravel it has knowing this persons taste in colors
