Today I bought my first dove! Her? name is Cornelia or Corny. Well she hasn't has the best life so far. A while back a lady went to the pet store where I got Corny. She asked Chris(the owner) if she had a dove she could buy to release at a funeral. Chris told her that she wouldn't sell her one. The women went to a different person and bought Corny. Two weeks later some one had found Corny in the middle of the highway. She was flying backwards she was so messed up. Chris managed to calm her down. She lived in the pet store for 8 months before I bought her today. She is missing all but 2 of the ends of her toes so she has trouble holding on to a perch. She doesn't have a problem with people being close to her cage but when you start to open the door she freaks. Maybe from being released at the funeral. Anyway I was wondering if anyone had any tips for taming her.
