Just wondering if any killis that are quite small and would be suitable for my rio 180 - stock in siggy - platys going to new home weekend and guppys being reduced to 4

my temp is 23-24 degrees
nitrates 0 - 10-20 from tap but reduces to 0 after 2-3 days in tank
nitrites 0
ammonia 0
ph 7.2-7.4
soft water - not got readings but live in devon

any help appreciated and any suggestions with latin names if possible so i can research them before ordering some

thanks sarah x

I used to have Cape Lopez Lyretail kilifish, they were nice looking and interesting. I would have thought they would have mixed well with your current stock. Sure theres a few others that would go well, but the Cape Lopez Lyretail is the only kili I have experience with :p.

See Aphyosemion australe in the pinned section
They will survive under those conditions quite happily, breed is a different matter though.
Aphyosemion striatum and Epiplatys dageti monroviae are another couple of peaceful candidates.

do u find striatum peacefull with other fish bigC, i never found keeping with other fish well. never done well with others, so eneded up just keeping it on its own.

Killifish mostly need to be kept in a species tank where their specific needs can be catered for. There are exceptions to this and quite a few species can be kept in community aquaria, I never had any trouble with Striatum in a mixed aquaria but as I said earlier its preferable to keep them in species tanks.
