Hi All,
I am new to this forum,
I own a 25L fluval Chi tank and have had my Tetra (One with an orange stripe through his body, not sure of technical name) for over 1yr and half, unfortunately he has been ill (and subsequently died today) for a month or so. Ammonia, nitrates etc are at a good level per our water tests.
The symptoms:
The fish became lathargic and stayed near the bottom of the tank
His right eye (only) appeared to be fluffy and had a white coating (cloudy eye? Cataracts?)
He lost colour and turned very dark
Suddendly he started to look better, gained colour and eye looked slightly better (still fluffy)
After dying I examined the fish and noted:
Fins were frayed/damaged/non existant in places (Not sure whether my other fish assaulted him)
And his bad eye was missing
Other eye was very black (maybe because fish had died)
Do any of you have any ideas what caused this, any expected implications for my other fish, if so any treatments that you recommend?
Thanks,
Chris
