Any Idea about a nano fish that is small enough to keep in a shrimp tank without eating too many babies?

I got my first CPDs from Rachel O'Leary. She was a co-author with Mark Denaro of the 2014 Adventurous Aquarist Guide "The 101 Best Freshwater Nano Species" Now I am biased because I happen to know both of these people. Rachel is a friend and Mark is somebody from whom I have bought fish and been to his home to do so. My copy of the book is signed by both authors :D The book has info on aquascaping, plants and inverts as well as fish.

They have a page on CPDs which lists the min size tank as 5 gal. They have no recommendation re a minimum number to keep. Apparently they like to eat their own eggs and the book suggest the use of a spawning mop.

I was just thinking a trip of sparkling gouramis, but you said you don't like labyrinth fish, and they are serious shrimp predators.
yeah already have a betta in a 10gallon dont feel like relocating that one because it has a taste for shrimp.

Hengeli rasbora may also work. Any of the boraras species, ember tetras, green neon tetras, small cocia species of bettas...just keep in mind that they may predate on baby shrimp if they can find them so having some mossy areas for the shrimp to hide in is a good idea.
have a few ember tetras in a 10 gallon might move a few of them over to the shrimp tank
