Any badis is a good badis

cycloid , chelidon" it's all Greek to me ".

look what I started .

Sorry fishdudein for derailing you topic .

I was trying to help . [ someone mentioned the likeness of badis badis to cichlids]. Maybe if I worded things a little different as to avoid this type of thing . .............................no

I read what I read about 7 years ago [ have not been able to find it yet ] and it made sense to me , as much sense as laterallines explaination makes to him .

lets give fishdudein back his topic .

Maybe Moderator can move this question about how cichlids got their names , I think it's a good question.

I'm willing to bet we get many diferent answers . Lets start with copiena [ the tick].
Oh the guy who runs that research site you [copiena ] referred said it sounded vaguely true but he wasn't sure . Also said he'd try to find out and get back to me .[of the "cycloid theory"]
Hey if I'm wrong I'm wrong , but don't assume I am , try and prove it .So maybe we can move this , what do you guys [ moderators] think . Like I said we'll get alot of[different] answers .

Thebadis badis species make good pets , good spectrum of colors . very interesting fish , slow moving water works well for them .Move the other stuff , please . I'll think of an answer.

Badis badis are seen on our lists locally quite often. As mentioned with your other species, they are relatively easy to keep. They are a wonderful specimen that share traits of many types of fish, gouramis, cichlids, and even leaffish.

Keep your eyes open, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

/Kris
