Hi all,

This is a great site and full of useful information. From time to time i had fish that were disappearing without a trace. I just started blaming my pleco, because he's the only one that's big enough to disappear anything. I bought some clown loaches yesterday and put them into my tank. I really think they pretty fish and watch them for a while. So after everything looked ok i starting doing other things around the apartment. Then both my wife and i couldn't find any of the clowns.

NO way could have Pleco eaten them so we starting looking everwhere. Getting desperate we starting removing all decorations, well we found them alright, these curious guys got themselves stuck in the decorations, trapped in the legs of the decorations. We had fake tree stumps which were hollow.

So finally, a tip to you or anyone else if your decorations are hollow fill them in with gravel or something so your fish cannot get stuck. I had a large catfish, now that i know what happened i feel horrible for it.

Please heed my warning and if this is common knowledge I'm a fool

Thanks for warning us. I'd been looking at those mangrove roots or whatever in the shop and wondering if they'd be safe or not- seems they're not then. Poor little fishies :(

I have a decoration that my 2 albino african cichilids got stuck in and i didnt know until it was too late

Wat a way to die.... :-( At least you know now and have posted the info to keep us informed - thanks buddy
