Maybe it does, just seems weird to me. I thought the idea of a flower was, so you ended up with pollen from another plant, so that your species is strengthened.

That is the theory behind having 2 unrelated parents, to maximise genetic variation and reduce any weaknesses in the offspring.

Animals don't self-pollinate because you would become genetically weaker.

Some do, Daphnia do and there is a lizard that produces clone babies of the mother. But you are right, most species do need 2 parents.

How much potassium would you dose?

5ml per 100l of tank water is the dosage with the seachem flourish potassium.Use the bottle cap,as a full cap equals 5ml,so I add 4 caps to my 400l tank.straight forward.

Just out of interest because I don't use fertilizers, do you just pour that in your tank? What happens if a fish swims into it before it has dissolved into the water?

When I dose fertizer, I add it into the inflowing water from the HOB filter.

So, you will need 2ml, be careful not to overdose.

Yes,I just pour it into the water in the flow from the power head.
I’m not one for fertz either and I only go as far as iron and potassium,they do seem to make a difference.

They flower underwater..the bloom tells you they are in the Aroid family with that Calla lily look you see repeated over and over from Philodendrons and many common plants. The white you see are fused flowers. If you look at that under a magnifying glass- you see hundreds of flowers. From what I've seen of vids of wild Anubias,they prefer growing on shady banks..and will creep right underwater. But I would think pollination is only possible with land plants. Flys I bet. Then the seeds fall and nature starts a new generation.
