I've had Al (the albino sterbai) for a few months now and he's always been happy to hang out with the albino bronzes.
Having upgrdaed my tank it was high time he got some sterbai buddies.
I couldn't find any albino sterbai but I got 4 regular sterbai.
They are sooooooo anti-social.
One of them is hanging out by itself in one corner (it's fine, snuffles around, comes up for air, etc, jusst doesn't hagn out with other corys).
Another is pootling about near the front by itself and the other 2 are alone around the back of a couple of pieces of bogwood.
Al is still hagning out with his albino bronze girlfriend (interestingly she doesn't spawn with my albino bronze male, unlike the other albino bronze female). Although all 4 albinos do hang out together a lot of the time.
The peppereds are always in one big family group, falling all over each other.
Are sterbai always so anti-social?

No, ive actually found with my group of 30 albino sterbai and regular sterbai to be the most sociable towards each other than any other cory i got or kept. Maybe its because it's such a large group but even when i had a single breeding group of 7 they were always very close, infact normally inseparable lol.

Hi JustKia :)

No, C. sterbai are usually quite social. Mine like to hang out in a bunch even though they are in a single species tank. Maybe it will just take them a while to get used to their new environment. Is the water warm enough for them?

The temp is approx 28C/82F
I know it's a bit on the warm side for most of my critters but they seem to be thriving and I figured best leave a stable temp than try to keep getting it lower.
3 of the 4 are fairly active, the one in the corner less so, but all are eating, snuffling, making like little rockets for the surface - just on their lonesome instead of together.
The 4 new ones all come from the same teeny tiny little tank in teh LFS, but vary in size somewhat.

Hi JustKia :)

That's a good temperature for them. C. sterbai like it that warm. I was actually wondering if it might be too cool. Maybe it will just take some time for him to adjust, but keep an eye on him since he is new. You never know what might have happened to new fish enroute to you, especially if they happen to be wild caught ones.
