I just would like to announce to some people that if you come across a teabag looking thingy in pet's at home or anywhere else, leave it on the shelf. I have had it in my tank along with a pleco, I've decreased the period of lighting, I have put it in the tank, then into the filter system and it does poop all!
Don't waste your money on them they cost around the price of £2.99 so buy an oto or a pleco instead, because the teabag is just for show

The tea-bags(I call them that too) do work to help remove nitrites and nitrates from your tank. I agree that they don't do much for algae though!!

They are designed to remove Phosphate, nitrite and nitrate.
I have the larger ones and they are far more effective than
the teabag ones.

Are we talking about Nitra-Zorb and Phos-Zorb bags?

I wasn't aware that they supposedly removed algae :dunno: They should in theory because they are removing the Nitrates and Phosphates that the algae 'feed' off.
