Ansorgei tetra - the store where I work got these in and I have no idea what they are. The specimens we have are about 1cm long, clear bodied with black points on their fins and tail (I think). Too small and fast to get a photo.

Can't find anything about them - I've Googled them but nothing really comes up.

Any ideas?

I've never heard of them I'm afraid and we've definately never had them in stock.
If you do manage to get a pic I'd be really interested to see what they look like.
Hope someone on her can give you some info.
Sorry I can't help

Tried to have a quick google and ansorgi comes up in a few different species as a name so wonder what it means in latin might give a clue.

The only things I found were african tetra types rather than CA ones these are some profiles that point to it being these.

If the links dont show up I got the scientific name of Neolebias ansorgii with common name of Landgraf's Tetra. Kind of got the black markings and what looks like a green sheen to them on a purple/copper base like a harliequin nearly.

Hope thats helped :)

Hi, Found this, http://www.blackwaterfish.com/nansorg.htm Don't know if it's this fish. It says it's a small characin from Cameroon,

Hmm, I think that might be them . . . they don't have the same colour but the description fits and they might have been stressed from the delivery.

Sounds like they are quite rare and fairly specialist! I might pick some up for one of my betta tanks, assuming research comes up with favourable results.
