I have two robust female Dwarf Gouramis. One used to be mean, but has since calmed down.
I really like the male's colors, but its seems they are too sickly for a beginner like me. I've had two die from what I suspect was the dreaded "dwarf Gourami Disease" but I'm not sure.
I hate losing fish and I think it would be foolish of me to just keep buying them and watching them die. Medications didn't seem to help and I'm not interested in trying again.
The stats in the tank are always good and water changes are frequent.
My questions are these:
1. are Honey Gouramis much hardier than male dwarves?
2. Will a Honey Gourami get along with the two female dwarves? I know that they wont breed, but can they coexist peacefully in a 29gallon US?
My female has become less aggressive lately, but I'm considering adding another female dwarf if that matters.
