Another Sick Idea Involving Cruelty To Fish

Yes, actually - if it's being seen by the rest of the world, and is embarrassing to China. People have been disappearing in that country for considerably less when it comes to preparation for the Olympics.

how did this F*****ED up country ever get the olympics, they should go back to making plastic bags for my shopping, that makes me sick.

That is an incredibly closed-minded response. Not every country and culture shares our western values and ethics. Whilst it may seem horrific to us as fish keeping enthusiasts, to them it is how the country is. It is the same with Korean people eating dogs, or women/different races being treated as second class citizens, or people being stoned/shot/hanged/poisened to death for various crimes elsehwere.
Thats not to say I condone ANY of these practices, but western culture is not universal and to think so is very naive, each different culture has its own sets of rights and wrongs, so what may seem horrific or inhumane to us is just the way of life for these people
Maybe these people would be equally offended by our western values and practices as they differ to their own?

Sorry but i totally disagree with this comment. Regardless of culture and values whats right is right and whats wrong is wrong. Things that are wrong play on your consience and are wrong its that simple. To treat women badly is WRONG, its immorral. It doesnt matter where you are from, its wrong. (The eating dogs thing is different and i have nothing against it because that is just a cultural difference) (to eat an animal to survive is not WRONG) But cruelty to animals and humans is wrong no matter where you are from. I dont belive in god but if i did i would say thats what you go to hell for.

Would you say its ok to rape children if its allowed in that country? if the crazy goverment made it a law that it was allowed would you say that it must be ok then? deffinatley not. whats wrong is wrong. and the fish in the bags with no air is wrong.

I agree with this, 100%!

Well they arent good on human rights so what chance do the fish have

Exactly!

This is the LEAST of things China does regarding exploitation.

Let's hope the children take them home and want to cut the bag open and put it in a bowl at least.

The whole idea seems foolish to me. I am not sure what purpose the toy has... Waste money on a fish that lasts a few hours? Everything about it seems dumb...

Totally agree with the above posts - cruelty is cruelty whatever race practice it or whatever country it is in. Deliberately allowing fish to suffocate? - this is wrong wrong wrong! - and anyone whatever their colour or creed who think its acceptable needs their brains testing! :grr:

You misunderstand me, I am not condoning this at all, I am equally as shocked and appalled as anyone else. All I am saying is that in China, this is perfectly acceptable as for many the notion of fish is an ornament, not a pet
