another sad day

hello all,

i awoke this morning to find my favorite red double tail floating at the bottom of his tank

i did a water change last night and he seemed fine, it was treated water that was brought to room temp, the same as his tank

i did notice kinda white slimy stuff on his body, does anyone know what that could be?

Bummer, so sorry! I do remember somebody asking about a similar symptom but I don't recall the name of the condition. Sorry again.

Probably columnaris....it is very, very fast like what you describe.

yeah it looked like that

strange thing is there was little slime on him and there was none last night, but i have heard you guys talk about how quickly it appears

he wasnt in a shared tank with anyone else and i'm doing 100% water changes in everyones tank just to be safe

everyone else is fine, one of my girls was really stressed last night which was weird, did a water change, still stressed i finally figured it out this morning

i gave them bloodworms last night as a treat and she wanted the pellets, gave her some, color went back to normal, spoiled!!

Im keeping a very close watch on all of my babies today!
