I had a little time this afternoon so I got to work on the LEDs for my 29g. I got the LED strips and transformer from ebay. They have 24 wide angle LEDs each and are completely water tight. I used 3/4 inch pvc elbows to mount them.
The very few parts used.
I used a dremel to notch the pvc so it would fit snuggly over the lip on on my AGA tank.
I then notched the inner lip used to mount a standard AGA hood so the pvc would slide down further.
I drilled and tapped the bottom, outside of the elbows so I could screw in my nylon bolts.
I painted them black to match everything else.
The ends of the LED strips fit perfectly into the elbows. I ran the wires right through them and they can't be seen. After I set them in the notches of the tank top I tightened the nylon bolts so they couldn't move.
This took me about 30 minutes. The tank is dry right now but I'll take a pic tonight to show how good they look.
