Hi. Would it be worth while making my own small 'in tank' trickle filter for some extra biological filtration in my stocked and planted lido 120l?
I understand that if you let the filter medium get dirty it will become a nitrate factory, but it would be easy to clean so this shouldn't become a problem.
At the moment i have the usual jewel internal filter(which i wouldn't mind getting rid of) and a eheim ecco canister filter. I would use the eheim to feed the homemade trickle filter, as its flow is only 400 lph.
Any help or opinions much appreciated.
Thanks
