Hi guys i need some help again - I have got a new siamese fighter (seth) we introduced him to the tank yesterday (hes blue) he has been ok all last nite & today & tonite I have noticed he has tiny white spots on him (they look a bit like air bubbles) so I left it at that but he is now resting himself on my thermoter just sitting there doing nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he is still breathing but my boyfriend said he didnt go for any food this morning - I'm really really worried I dont think I can cope with loosing another one after loosing sammy last week. Im wondering if it is ICH & if it is what the hell I should do!!!!! I know I can't put salt in because of Sid (plec) someone help I havent a clue wot to do..... thanks Alex :dunno:

Just let u no ive done my tests PH is 7.0 to 7.6 Ammonia is 0 Nitrite is 0 & Nitrate is 0 to 5.0 is a little darker than yellow but not totally orange (if that makes sense) Temp is fine it is 28 - I did a 10% water change yesterday because I did 1 on Thursday 35% because nitrate & nitrite was high.
Fish in tank
3 mollies
4 Guppies
3 plattes
2 red eye
1 plec
All others are strong & well (no signs of any spots, be hard to notice on the mollies though ;) thanks for help :-(

What size is your tank?
That temp is a tad bit high for normal fishkeeping, I think.
It would be good for treatment of ick.

Is it possible for you to take him out and put him in a hospital tank?

its a 70litre (2 ft) tank - we havent got another tank - this is getting stupid I dont seem to be havin much luck at the moment - will get sum stuff for ich treatment tomorrow morning - i dont no if Im stressing over nothing & its just his colouring but I dont remember if they were there when we put him in tank or not.... aaaaahhhhhhhh

do you have a bucket and an airstone? to set up an effective hospital tank, you just need something clean that will hold a couple gallons of water and something else to keep it aerated. since most medicines will kill off cycle bacteria and tell you to remove the carbon anyways, its ok to just put the fish in a bare bucket.

make certain the bucket is clean first and hasn't been used to hold chemicals, etc. you can purchase a brand new 5-gallon at most hardware stores. i would suggest doing that as opposed to scavenging something. fill with three or four gallons of clean water. add your airstone and adjust the airflow so that its gently bubbling. add the medicines and then acclimate your fish just as you would if you had brought it home from the store.

--ADDENDUM--

if you use this method, you will need to do a water change at least once a day. one gallon at a time should be fine for just the one fish.
