ive been feeding my oscars pellets&the odd goldfish
ive tried the odd bit of veg but ive been lookn up on the net and sumone says to feed them peas?wot kind of peas as i dont wanna go and open a tin of biggas and just tip them in :good:

any other ideas on food? they wont even look at bloodworm(live or frozen) the krill they will only eat a little bit then the plec gets the rest

cheers everyone

frozen, shelled peas work best. no canned and unsalted or buttered. let them thaw out, some people cook them a bit to soften them up for them. i'm sure it does more, but I really don't know. all i know is the type of peas ot feed :p

Don't use tinned mushy peas
A bag of frozen peas is what you need, no need to defrost them just put some in the tank

Edit: Also, I would stay away from using feeder fish as they significantly increase the risk of adding disease into the tank. I have never feed my Oscars feeder fish and they are doing just fine. They get good quality pellets in the morning then some frozen cubes at night which varies between Chiclid Chow, Brine Shrimp, Bloodworm, Mussles etc.

i feed mine pellets/flakes/bottom feeder food/peas/frozen cichlid mix/woodlice/daddy long legs/spiders all straight from the garden...mine adore woodlice :good: also i buy feeder shrimp from fish shop
