Hey there,
i am new to the whole fish world. My friend started his saltwater tank about 2-3 months ago. I loved it from when he frist started. I decided to do a saltwater tank too. I picked up a eclipse stage 3 system off a good friend for a great price. I got saltwater from a tropical fish store along with live sand and rock. I let it sit there filtering for about 4-5 weeks. I just recently put 4 damsels and a blood/fire shirmp in there. They seem to be loveing it. Fish and shrimp are very active and rarely hide themselves(when the light is on). However, the eclipse system is very limited. I feel it was a great base for the begginer i am. However, the light bulbs need to be replaced with something better. i am also interested in adding maybe another filter or a protein skimmer. Any thoughts? Thanks!

YAnm! (Yet Another New Member) Always good to see, doubt we're going to lose our friendliness no matter how big we get!! A huge welcome to the forum buddy, good to see another from accross the 'pond' so to speak. The marine section of this site is just starting to pick up, as most of the people here keep freshwater, however there are a couple of very knowledgeable people which more than make up for numbers, you will see, I like you am hoping to set up a reef tank and they have been extremely helpful so far! B)

We're also looking at the moment to expand our marine/saltwater section so you could be coming in just in time to see the benefits of it, just chatting it through with the rest of the moderators at the moment :)
