Another Marine Addict, Oh The Horror.

Goodness girl, get thee to bed :hyper: I've just finished a long, hot and frustrating day at school, pupils certainly don't respond well to heat

Lol, it's the holidays, so there's no need to wake up before midday  Urgh I wish it was hot here. But it's about -4 degrees C, way too cold for what I'm used to. What'd you teach? :)

We are close to the Summer holidays, just three weeks to go woo hoo.......

I don't teach (whole class, subject) anymore but manage a unit for children with emotional, social, behavioural issues. I also manage child protection and looked after children. Its a great job and I love it, but the temp is 29 c here at the moment and rather humid, kids with the sort of difficulties I work with find it very difficult

I take it that you are in Winter, you are in Australia, right?

Sweet, sounds like an amazing job :)It'd be nice, I think, to do something like that...

I want to do a bachelor in psychology with a joined bachelor in law and either go further into psychology or go into the Child Services area... Of course what I want to do hardly matters when my Aunt is paying my school fees, She's COMPLETELY dead set of me being a pharmacist.. Sorry, that was way off topic

Yeah I live in Australia :) And it's winter.. Soo cold

Hmm I have yet another question about lighting..

I think I've settled on a 6 x 24 watt fixture but can't decide between the two?

This one doesn't come with bulbs, but has a splash protector. The bulbs are also more spread out.

This one DOES come with bulbs, but has no splash protector.

Not Familiar with the brand but i would go with the splash protector it keeps the reflectors working correctly :good:

Plus its better to choose the bulbs you want to use :)

4 White
1 Blue
1 Purple

Is a good mix it gives a good amount of useable light + a nice blue colour

Thanks, :) for the white bulbs would you say something like 2 10000K, 1 14000K and 1 2000K or something else? I really like the idea of using a purple bulbs. I haven't before.

The main reason I'm considering the other is cause I doubt I could afford to buy the bulbs, after.. =/

Edit; I just realised that I've been reading "has a cover over globes" as "has NO cover over globes" Gosh.

Bahah, for some reason whenever I'm on forums and such I always go off topic and sprout out excessive amounts of verbal garbage, often including numerous insignificant, nondescript facts about things I doubt anyone in their right mind would have any inclination to care about.

For instance, I got 94% in my Short Creative writing piece :hyper: Not the greatest mark, but I've never been that great at short stories... They always go too long  And it fits the criteria to go into my end of year portfolio... :)

Back to the fish tank :) I actually properly measured the tank for once, and looked up the model on the Internet. It's 180L... so I think that's around 40 Imperial gallons and... 47 US Gallons... Perhaps. I can't really remember the conversion rate. But it's 180L, the Aqua Nova R-798. I think I said at the start it was 122L, then got thinking that if it was that size it would be really quite overstocked. It still is now, really.

Edit: I just thought I'd ad that my little male back and white clown is doing well, nearly three weeks ago the female got a little boisterous, maybe because she was maturing more... I'm not sure. But he got stressed out and my coral banded shrimp took that as an opportunity to get a hold of him. :-( When I took him out to the tank and put him in a breeding net he looked close to death. He completely lost one of his ventral fins, the other was torn up pretty bad. Both his pectoral fins were horrid looking. It made him look like Nemo with his uneven fins Haha. You can still see masses of claw marks all over him, especially in the white areas. He also lost his right eye. The skin around it was detached and red, but now it's cleared up marvelously, where his eye use to be looks very clean and healed. I put him back in the tank a few days ago, not knowing what to expect in terms of aggression from the female. But she was... Basically all over him LOL Very happy to see each other again. :D So I'm very happy with them at the moment. The female is super, super protective of him now. Wont let the damsel come within a foot of him  Bahah, not to mention how she blatantly annoys the shrimp and nips at their claws when they have a go at her. :hyper:

This is a video of the goby I have, any ideas on the name of it?
