I took a discus back to my LFS that had died after 2 days of me having it. Whilst there, a woman walked in with 3 bags of fish she no longer wanted. I noticed in these bags whilst they were floating in the tanks, 5 C.Aenues Bronze. 3 were females are were FULL to bursting with eggs. i duly swapped these and a few apple snails for the dead discus.

I brought them home and placed them in their own breeding tank. On the first attempt at forcing the spawn, they have done me proud this morning :)

Not many eggs mind you, and the 3 girls are still quite fat.... so many more to come i hope!

Hi Sp00ky :)

Good luck with your new fry!

Bronze C. aeneus are still my favorite fry to raise. It never fails to amaze me when I see their lovely iridescent coloration.

lol, My Cory breeding aint going to well, the nice young stud I added turned out to be a juvenile female, so i have 2 males and 4 females :/.

sorry to hear that mate. however, if you were to remove 3 of the females and leave the 2 males in there, it shouldnt be long before they kick off.

You cant see all of them properly against the white base of the tank. But all the front of the tank to within about and inch of the bottom is covered. On the 2nd pic if you look through to the side of the tank you can see more eggs. couldnt get them all on the front LOL

they hatched this morning and theres currently 3 groups of black wrigglers in 2 corners and the other under the moss ball LOL. i lost about 40 to fungus.. not a bad ratio.

Congratulation with large spwan and hatching. Now you have very large family to take care.

Hope all well with babies.
