I noticed white fungus on one of my plakats I bought a few weeks ago, so I used my bettamax for the first time last night.

I changed the water in his 1g before I dosed him.

The directions say to treat him every other day for 5 days (3 doses).

The fungus is gone already, but there is what looks like white crud in his bowl.

Any idea what that is? :dunno: And it's not uneaten food, I haven't fed him yet.

Should I leave him in it another day, then dose him again or should change his water now and re-dose him? :dunno:

Also, I added a pinch of aquarium salt when I first dosed him.

glad it cleared up so fast. I would change his water and redose him. Then do it again tomorrow :)

hi there,

my betta's bowl also have some white crud and strings of cottony things from this plastic plants. yesterday, i've noticed it after a water change and adding bettamax. if anyone has any ideas as to what those are, it would be greatly appreciated! it is not uneaten food either since i make sure that he finishes everything before i leave to do other things.

thanks!!

p.s. he doesn't have fungus since up to the change yesterday, there were no signs of fungal infection. it is the same ct that has been constipated but have successfully and consistently defacated for the last few days.

It's not from the plants, because I have no plants in my betta tanks, and some of my bettas have it in their tanks as well. I have no clue what it is though.

I haven't seen it since, I still have no clue as to what it was. :dunno:

The plakat is doing great though.

BTW, I have no substrate in my 1 gallon bowls, if it matters.

yah.. after i cleaned the tank, the white fluffy stuff is gone too... hasn't recur yet... my friend's tanks are like that too.. even after it has been cleaned thoroughly... i'm really curious now as to what it is... do bettas produce white fluffy stuff? all my tanks only have fake plants (either silk or plastic) with no gravel. :fish:
